The hope that we have — for our present and future with God — is all down to Jesus. “This is true because Christ suffered for our sins once. He was an innocent person, but he suffered for guilty people so that he could bring you to God. His body was put to death, but he was brought to life through his spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18)
Good Friday is arguably one of the most important days to a Christian. On this day, over two millennia ago, Jesus was killed for the good of everything. Every person, in this whole creation, has been given the chance to know God because of Jesus’ actions. But it is also a really difficult day, as we reflect on the really brutal way in which the Son of God became a sacrifice for us. All these years later, we know that Jesus will rise from the dead — but it is important for us to feel the heaviness of this momentous point in human history.
So we are marking this at St. Oswald’s Church on Friday, 29 March at 2:00pm, the believed time when Jesus gave his spirit to God in his dying on the cross. We will meet at Church for a reflective, solemn, but beautiful service to remember his ultimate gift.
All are welcome to attend.
