We’re thrilled to announce that our toddler group, Little Caterpillars, will be starting on 9 February 2023!
It runs every Thursday morning from 9-11 during term times in the church during term time. This group is suitable for children 0-3 (and their grown-ups!) and we will have lots of fun singing songs and nursery rhymes, telling stories, and encouraging free play with our little ones.
We have teas, coffees, toast, and fruit available during our play time for any rumbly tummies. Come and join the fun!
Can you help us finish our Church kitchen?
We are 90% complete our kitchen refurbishment! The floors have been laid, the wall cladding is up, new surfaces and shelving units have been installed, and the sinks have been tapped in! We welcome our community to use the space for teas and coffees at the end of our services — come and see our brand new kitchen!
We are awaiting the last few details, but unfortunately, due to some unexpected costs along the way, we’ve hit the ceiling of our Church budget. We’ve been incredibly blessed to receive all of our funding from grants and very generous donations thus far, and we’re so close to being able to complete this renovation. Quite frankly, we’re still in need of £1,000 to complete this job and are hoping our Church family, community, and friends can help to push us over the finish line.
St. Oswald’s has historically been such an important part of the community — from various groups, meetings, services, and events that have taken part over the years, and our Church kitchen has played a valuable role in this. Our intent is to future-proof this space so we can continue to be available and open for years and years to come.
So can you help us? If you are in a place where you can give, we thank you over and over again. We recognise that times are tough at the moment but are so grateful for the incredible generosity we’ve experienced so far.
If you are able to help in any way at all, you can do so by clicking the Donate button, and if you do, please then Contact Us to let us know. This way we can thank you personally: because we appreciate every person who continues to help us to grow! By also letting us know, your message will help us to ensure that whatever you give goes directly to our kitchen and isn’t allocated to other church finances.
Thank you so very much for keeping us in your prayers, for your generosity, and you support as we continue to finish up these last few details. Please keep an eye out on our News page for more exciting kitchen updates!

Beat the January Blues Quiz Night
January is such a difficult month, isn’t it? The joy and celebration of Christmas is over, the New Years celebrations have come and gone, and now we find ourselves in the midst of the winter darkness (and snow!).
But we want to have a little something on the calendar to look forward to! On Sunday, 29 January at 4pm, we are hosting a January Blues Quiz Night. Come and join us for a good ole pub-style quiz and some light savoury refreshments.
Come and join us for some light-hearted fun, some great St. Oswald’s treats, and a good laugh! Sign up sheet is available at the back of church or let Rev. Joe know that you’re planning to attend. May the best team win!

2nd Sunday of Epiphany with Bishop Julie
This coming Sunday, 15 January marks the second Sunday of Epiphany and we will be celebrating alongside Chester Diocese’s Bishop Julie who will be presiding and preaching for us.
Traditionally in the Church, Epiphany marks the celebration of God, who became man, in Christ. Further, in the Western Church, we celebrate the arrival of the Magi to visit Jesus after his birth. Join us as we welcome Bishop Julie, learn from her, and sing about the Kings who came to visit our God!

Men’s Group Games Night
Our next Men’s Group social is just around the corner! We will be meeting at St. Oswald’s on Wednesday, 19 March at 7:00pm to play darts, build community, and have a laugh.
Look forward to seeing you there!
Harvest Walk & Supper
This Autumn, we will be celebrating the Harvest season with a walk through our beautiful home, giving thanks for the place in which we live, and follow that up with a bowl of hot, homemade soup!
This event will take place on Saturday, 8 October in the afternoon; time will be announced this coming Sunday 25th. All are welcome to come walk, eat, and celebrate with us!

Alpha Course
Exciting news! We have relaunched a daytime course of Alpha! Beginning on Monday, 25 September at 1pm, we will gather together for a number of weeks to explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and share our views. This will involve gathering in the church for a discussion, refreshments, and building relationships.
Please join us on Monday afternoons at St. Oswald’s Church and if you require more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Weekly Prayer
We have just launched a new weekly event of having our St. Oswald’s open on Monday mornings for Prayer. The church will be open from 9:00am until 12:00pm where you can come and pray either out loud with others, or quietly on your own. Please feel free to use this time to reflect and connect with God for the new week. We look forward to seeing you there.
Sunday Event – 26th June
This Sunday, 26th June, there will be no evening service at St. Oswald’s. Instead, we are taking a field-trip down the road to St. James’ Church to be a part of an open worship evening that begins at 6:30pm. Bishop Julie will be speaking while our very own Keith will be leading worship along with Jane Adenbrook.
Everyone is welcome to come along and we hope to see you there!
